Answer
The first thing to determine is whether such behavior comes from a bona fide sampradaya and authorized spiritual discipline, or whether it is simply a personal concoction.
There is certainly a process of worshiping Krishna in vatsalya-rasa, but everything in devotional life must be practiced according to one’s stage of advancement. At the sadhaka stage, Krishna must first be understood as God.
When one becomes completely purified, Krishna may be experienced only as one’s child, friend, or beloved, without awareness of His divinity. The residents of Vraja do not think of Krishna as God. But that is an extremely advanced stage.
For us, Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the source of all causes and the Supreme Father. We begin with God consciousness, and through that consciousness we become purified. Only after purification can intimate spontaneous relationships arise naturally.
Therefore, when neophyte devotees artificially imitate intimate dealings with Krishna, it is generally a form of sahajiyaism—premature imitation of advanced devotional emotions.
