You do not need to make permanent friends or permanent enemies. Sadhu-sanga means taking association where you receive genuine spiritual benefit and become inspired in Krishna consciousness.
If a devotee listens to you and gives you a Krishna conscious perspective, that association is valuable. Sometimes a person may be able to help you simply because he is not emotionally entangled in your situation.
In devotional life, every sincere devotee can act as a mirror for another devotee. We often cannot see our own anarthas, but another devotee may be able to point them out. You do not have to find someone completely free from anarthas in order to receive guidance. The important point is that the devotee is serious and gives guidance according to Krishna consciousness.
