We have relationships with Srila Prabhupada, the Deities, Krishna, and the Vaishnavas, and relationships naturally involve revealing the mind. Therefore, there is no need to choose one while excluding the others.
Reveal your mind to the Deities and to Srila Prabhupada. At the same time, with proper discrimination, reveal your mind to qualified Vaishnavas when doing so will help your spiritual life.
However, unless one is spiritually advanced, it is difficult to experience Prabhupada’s presence as fully living and personal. Because of bodily consciousness, people often feel that a guru who has left this world is no longer present. This is why sadhu-sanga is essential. Srila Prabhupada established the principle of guru, sadhu, and shastra. Spiritual life is not meant to be practiced independently of Vaishnava association.
A highly advanced devotee may be able to remain alone with Prabhupada and Krishna and experience full association through chanting and reading. But for most practitioners, association with sincere devotees is necessary.
When revealing the mind to another devotee, do so intelligently. The purpose is spiritual help, not emotional validation. If someone encourages your material tendencies, that is not proper revealing of the mind. True revealing of the mind is based on spiritual principles.
