Answer
In Kali-yuga, the Lord has made Himself extraordinarily accessible through His holy name.

Just as the Lord mercifully opened the window of direct vision for Kardama Muni, in Kali-yuga He has opened a window through the holy name. Whether one is qualified or unqualified, by vibrating:

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

the Lord is existentially present.

In previous yugas, realization of the Lord through His name depended much more upon purity and qualification. One had to understand that it was the Lord's name and chant with proper purity.

In Kali-yuga, however, the Lord has invested His full presence in His holy name. Whether one fully understands or not, the Lord is present in the vibration. Therefore even a non-believer who chants comes in contact with the Lord, and that contact begins to purify the senses. If the person continues sincerely, that existential contact gradually develops into experiential realization of the Lord.
