Therefore, our primary responsibility is not merely external activism, but cultivating the desire that:
the world should function according to the Lord's will,
people should become free from sinful activities,
and everyone should receive the opportunity for spiritual advancement.
The material world is certainly a place of suffering because birth, death, old age, and disease cannot be avoided.
Still, it is also part of the Lord's arrangement.
Within that arrangement, peaceful societies are possible.
There can be prosperous civilizations where people live honestly, without starvation, poverty, theft, dishonesty, or unnecessary violence.
Such peace is possible when society follows the laws of karma and lives according to dharma.
When large numbers of people become sinful, Krishna descends in different incarnations to protect innocent devotees and restore religious principles.
Meanwhile, sincere devotees continue their spiritual practices, gradually giving up material attachment and increasing their attachment to Krishna until they return to Him.
The Lord allows every living entity the freedom to choose its own path.
The practical contribution devotees can make is to increase the spiritual force on the earth through sankirtana.
