Answer
Fear is described in the Srimad-Bhagavatam as a natural condition of material existence.

Our present situation is that we are placed in the material energy, although we are not meant to remain here. Our actual position is to live in spiritual energy, but somehow or other we have come into this material condition. The question then arises: how do we get out of it?

As long as one remains situated in material consciousness, fear will exist in the heart. Fearlessness is not possible on the material platform because the conditioned soul is limited, temporary, and subject to change.

However, even while situated in material energy, one can become gradually elevated by practicing Krishna consciousness. By chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, one is immediately brought closer to the spiritual platform. On the spiritual platform, there is no fear, no death, no disease, and no old age. These material miseries do not exist there.

Therefore, the practical process for becoming fearless is to take up Krishna consciousness sincerely and chant the holy name as much as possible. The highest perfection is to always remember and chant the holy name of the Supreme Lord.

Anyone can chant, but it should be done with sincerity, seriousness, and proper attention. One should also pray to Krishna for protection and guidance, understanding that He is all-powerful and the supreme protector of His devotees.

By sincerely engaging in this way—chanting, praying, and taking shelter of Krishna—one gradually becomes purified. Although fear may not disappear immediately at the beginning, steady practice brings progressive liberation from material contamination.

As one advances further, material desires and attachments are gradually destroyed, and one becomes firmly situated on the spiritual platform. At that stage, one is fully liberated and completely free from fear.
