How to understand signs by Krishna?

Answer
Krishna is active in our heart at every moment. From Him come remembrance, knowledge, and forgetfulness. He is the ultimate source of everything and the most compassionate personality within the entire creation.

Although Krishna possesses unlimited auspicious qualities, we are unfortunately forgetful of Him and have turned away due to the desire for independent enjoyment.

Therefore, the most simple and practical method of approaching Krishna is given in the scriptures: the chanting of the holy name. By chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra regularly and attentively, one gradually develops the ability to feel Krishna’s presence within the heart.

Krishna is already situated in everyone’s heart, but due to our conditioned state, we are unable to perceive Him. The chanting process helps cleanse the heart so that this perception becomes clear and natural.

Krishna is also present in many other ways. He manifests as His holy name, as the deity in the temple, and even as sacred offerings such as prasadam. Before food is offered to Krishna, it is considered ordinary, but after being offered with devotion, it becomes spiritually potent prasadam.

In the Bhagavad-gita, Krishna further explains how He pervades the entire creation. He says, “I am the taste of water,” indicating that the very taste we experience in water is a manifestation of His presence. He also says, “I am the light of the sun and the moon,” meaning that the light by which we see daily is also a representation of Him.

Similarly, Krishna states that He is the fire of digestion within the body. The process by which food is digested is also under His direction. In this way, everything we experience in daily life has a connection with Krishna.

By studying the Bhagavad-gita carefully, we can learn to recognize these various manifestations of the Lord and develop remembrance of Him throughout our day-to-day activities.

Thus, Krishna can be remembered in many forms and through many experiences—not just in one way, but in unlimited ways. The more we become aware of His presence, the more our consciousness becomes purified and fixed in devotion.
